Crozes-Hermitage Red - Pionniers 2013

Crozes-Hermitage Red Pionniers 2013

The “Pionniers” comes from a selection of two blocks located in “Les Chassis” at La Roche de Glun and in Mercurol/Pont de l’Isère. The Syrah old vines are grown in an Alpine diluvium soil made of draining pebbles, allowing a great tannic structure and a deep colour.

The grapes are firstly destemmed to protect the fruity aromas. Then twice a day for 25 to 30 days, the tanks are pumped over to softly extract tannins and colour. In order to respect the great Crozes-Hermitage wine-making traditions, the “Pionniers” is aged in French oak for 12 months of which fifth are made of new oak.

A beautiful intense ruby for this “Pionniers” 2013. The nose, fine and el-egant, shows notes of red fruits with notes of vanilla and cedar wood. The mouth is concentrate and well balanced with garrigue and black fruits flavours, mixed with a very fine oaky side and long silky tannins.
